My professional identity

I am Georgia Salakou, a licensed psychologist and a graduate of the Department of Psychology of Panteion University.

My professional path has been shaped through contact with different populations and therapeutic settings, deepening my interest in the complexity of human experience and the importance of an individualised approach.

Today I offer individual psychological support sessions for adults, placing particular importance on building a stable therapeutic relationship, understanding each personal story and respecting the uniqueness of every person.

My path

Pieces of a path

  1. Education and ongoing training

I am a psychology graduate of Panteion University and I am training in integrative psychotherapy at the psychiatric polycentre “Sygchrona Amfiaraeia”.

My scientific training also includes further education on psychological trauma and resilience, as well as courses related to mindfulness, body psychotherapy and the use of expressive means in the therapeutic process.

  2. Professional experience

My professional experience includes individual sessions with adults, as well as collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in psychological support settings.

I have also worked in educational settings in Greece and abroad, taking part in the psychological support of children and adolescents, in needs assessment and in collaboration with parents and teachers.

Working in different settings has helped me form a many-sided view of the person, recognising the importance of individual experience as well as of the family and social environment.

  3. The therapeutic relationship as a space for understanding

I see psychotherapy as a process of meeting and collaboration, in which each person has the opportunity to explore their experiences, recognise sides of themselves and look for new ways of understanding their personal story.

My therapeutic stance is based on respect, empathy and recognition of each person’s uniqueness. I believe it is important for the therapeutic process to be shaped around the particular needs and personal pace of the client.

Ongoing training, supervision and personal reflection are essential parts of my professional development.

The first step

A space for your own story
